25 October 2025

This month Liana has been continuing volunteering at the Australian Centre for Goldrush Collections, which has helped us fill in some information that has been missing in our records on the website.

Some of the information that has been added includes:

1991-1992 board members listed
1996-1997 board members listed
1997-1998 board members listed
1998-1999 board members listed
Steel Magnolias - 1994 cast and director
Two Weeks with the Queen - cast and director
A Hard God - cast and director
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead - cast
The Boy Friend - program and cast
Young Wives' Tale - cast
Blithe Spirit - venue
Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? - cast
Fools - cast and media

There is a full list below with all the additional information added since the last update.

Some really great additions this update include some of the large gaps in our records of the board members for the 1990s. There are now only a couple of places we are still missing information for board members.

Some interesting items in this update include information about productions we have previously had no information on, including the 1994 production of Steel Magnolias. There are also some entertaining reviews of the one-act play Fumed Oak, which was staged in 1950. The media added to the production includes potent Letters To The Editor from Christian members of the community, outraged by the production, as well as people staunchly defending the production. The play was presented at the Royal South Street Society one-act play festival and won second place.

Items from this update

Below is a small number of the items that have been digitised and added to the historical productions on the website.
