Message from the 2026 President

12 February 2026

2026 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for theatre in Ballarat, and I am honoured to have been named President of BNT in what promises to be a transformative period in the history of our organisation.

With a return to having four shows over the season, including God of Carnage, following its unfortunate postponement in 2025, and You Can’t Tell Anyone, giving a wonderful opportunity for our talented youth actors to get on stage, we are excited to be putting on a great variety of productions for you this year.

With the support of our new BNT Board, who bring a wealth of experience in theatre, I am eager to build upon and strengthen our ties with the broader community, including our partnership with Ballaarat Mechanics Institute, as the home of our productions, with fellow theatrical organisations across Ballarat and the central highlands region and, of course, with our membership and theatre-going public.

Most importantly, I want this year to bring a renewed focus on developing the framework to ensure that the safety and well-being of our cast and crew are at the forefront of BNT’s decision making processes. BNT recognises that our volunteers are our most valuable asset and that should be reflected in all that we do.

I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming shows! And, of course, I am always open to hearing from our members, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Benj Beatty, 2026 President
