About Castle In The Air
The play was described in the member’s newsletter as a very bright comedy, written by Alan Melville, whose most recent success has been Simon and Laura.
The near-bankrupt Earl of Locharne must contend with a government agent trying to requisition his ancestral Scottish castle, as well as a beautiful American woman who wants to buy the place - to say nothing of the resident ghost.
The play was made into a film, of the same name, in 1952.
