SYNOPSIS OF SCENES 

The action of the play passes in the sitting room of David Preston's house at Bromley, Kent.

Time: The present.

ACT I

Scene 1: Seven o'clock on a Tuesday evening.

Scene 2: Half-an-hour later.

ACT Il

Scene 1: Nine o'clock the next morning.

Scene 2: Half-an-hour later.

ACT III

Towards seven o'clock the following evening.

There will be two ten minute intervals during which coffee will be served in the foyer.
