From the 1994 BNT Newsletter
The final weekend in August sees Royal South Street and BNT combining forces once again for the annual One Act Play Festival.
Adjudicators this year will be the Sun/Herald theatre critic Bob Crimeen for the senior section, and drama teacher and BNT director Barry Tudor for the junior section.
BNT is entering an all-female production of Henry Fielding's play THE MOCK DOCTOR, directed by Verity Higgins, and rehearsals are already well underway. The cast includes some familiar faces (Jenny Tudor, Wendy Hall, Marilyn Chestnut and Juanita Pope) and some new ones as well. Lois Walter has kindly agreed to design and oversee production of costumes, but volunteers are needed to help with the actual sewing.
And then a later edition of the newsletter that year.

Congratulations to Verity Higgins and the cast and crew of BNT's entry in the One Act Play Festival, THE MOCK DOCTOR, which practically scooped the pool in the awards department last weekend. Adjudicator Bob Crimeen, (Arts Editor for the Melbourne Sun Herald) said in his summing up that when first reading his program, he didn't believe that such a production could possibly "come off", but on seeing this unusual all-female production he certainly changed his mind!
