Board member Liana Emmerson is taking leave from her role on the BNT board due to complications from a head injury received in April. Liana has enabled us to share that she is currently recovering from Post Concussion Syndrome, a condition that has significantly reduced her physical and cognitive capacity and has required her to step back from both work, as well as her extensive community roles. She is currently undergoing rehabilitation for the injury and we will work with her on a staged return to duties when her recovery allows.
We are supporting her while she is recovering to be able to continue participating in creating theatre by making adjustments that enable accessibility in line with her needs, including reduced responsibilities and flexible timeframes.
Recovery from her injury is likely to take some months and she is making steady progress. We wish her a speedy recovery.
