Vale Peppa Sindar

22 July 2024

VALE PEPPA SINDAR (1957-2024)

Ballarat National Theatre would like to acknowledge the unexpected passing of life member Peppa Sindar. Peppa has been an active and much-loved member of our community for over two decades. She just finished performing as part of our most recent production, which was one of over 20 performances she has been part of with BNT.

Her performances with our company have included:
The Female of the Species (2015), The House by the Lake (2006), Suspects (2010), Twisted Tales (2007), Say Who You Are (2003), Brief Encounters (2004), Rumours (2003), Snake in the Grass (2009), How the Other Half Loves (2002), Telling Tales (2006), Lord Arthur Savile's Crime (2013), Act Like A Girl (2015), Tangled Tales (2008), Rough Justice (2005), A 2020 Vision (2020), Dry Rot (2005), Steel Magnolias (2021), The Anastasia File (2007), as well as play readings and multiple radio plays for Ballarat Heritage Festival.

Every community theatre production has dozens of people involved in it. This extensive list of productions is an indication of the number of people in our community who are impacted by her passing and the number of friends she has found through theatre. Peppa had expressed to her friends that she felt blessed by their love, support and companionship. Her friends have asked that people remember her when they hear beautiful music, look at the night sky or the ocean or enter a theatre, all things that Peppa loved. They have also provided us with a quote from Peppa to cherish:

"It is my belief that we shall meet again in some form, even if it's as a quantum particle or vibration.  We will resonate together again."

For members who may be fondly recalling performances with Peppa over the years, we have collated images of Peppa from our archives for you to view or download here: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBAucJ

As there will not be a funeral, we will let members know of a wake in her honour once details have been finalised.

Members of our most recent production have been invited to a gathering this week. If you were part of this production and have not received the information about the cast and crew gathering, let us know so we can get it to you.
